It is around 38 km from BORDEAUX, in SAINTE-CROIX DU MONT at the foot of a hillside overlooking the Garonne River that Vignobles ROUMEGOUS welcoame you. The vineyards now cover 15 hectares.

Facing south-south-west, these clay-limestone hillsides with shell subsoil from the Tertiary era enjoy ideal exposure to the sun. Planted with SAUVIGNON and SEMILLON vines, they produce sweet white wines with complex aromas and a dash of liveliness. Two appellations are produced here: LOUPIAC and SAINTE-CROIX DU MONT. Served chilled, they will enchant your palate as an aperitif. They will also go wonderfully well with foie gras, poultry, truffles, and many cheeses, desserts and fruits.

The estate also produces a BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR red made with MERLOT and CABERNET-SAUVIGNON grapes from vines set on clay slopes with a sand-gravel subsoil.

This typical Bordeaux wine with its harmonious blend develops aromas of red fruit, among others. Its deep colour gives a hint as to its fine structure. Vinified according to the traditional methods and partially matured in oak casks, CHATEAU BOUCHOC goes ideally with red meat, game, cold meat dishes and cheeses.

A BORDEAUX ROSE and a BORDEAUX DRY WHITE, both light and fruity, complete the range produced on the estate.

The latest in a line of several generations of winegrowers, Jean-Marie ROUMEGOUS has a real passion for wine. When he took over CHATEAU BOUCHOC in 1988, he was facing a real challenge.
The estate, founded in 1859 by the BALLADE family, had enjoyed many years of glory but had unfortunately also experienced a period of decline. Having been totally abandoned, it needed a complete overhaul and restructuring. Jean-Marie ROUMEGOUS is today particularly proud to share with you the result of these years of work.
